So Flute: Laura J Martin

Hailing from the suburbs of Liverpool, Laura J Martin combines the contrasting sounds of flute, mandolin & loop station to craft a truly unique sound. After taking part in he Brownswood artists ‘Soil & Pimp’ sessions in Tokyo, 2006, she returned to the UK to collaborate with Kid Kanevil and work on her solo project.Her 2009 single Dokidoki formed a precursor to appearances at the Big Chill, Greenman and Soundwave festivals and warming up for Alice Russell’s UK tour. We sat down with Laura before the launch night for The Hangman Tree to ask her more about her sound.
