Scott Switzer, a PhpAds developer turned OpenAds community leader, met with Intruders TV to discuss OpenAds’ history and its future plans.

OpenAds which spun out of an open source PhpAdsNew project, is an ad server that figures out which ads to show to which users. Used by thousands of publishers to serve ads on thousands of sites, Openads is proving to be as popular with small to medium businesses as it is with larger ad players such as Federated Media.

OpenAds recently announced a funding round, led by Index Ventures, which will be used for further business growth. With a large number of recent buyouts in the online advertising sector, OpenAds is the startup to watch.
