Mark Quirk, Product Manager of Microsoft’s Web Technologies, talks to intruders about Remix08 Silverlight, microsoft’s push to connect with grass-roots developers and their vision of the future of browser runtimes.
Jof takes the opportunity to get more insight into how Microsoft sees Silverlight versus up-coming browser features like the V8 and Tamarin JavaScript engines and HTML 5. What’s clear is that they aren’t just aiming at fast code-execution – they are creating an environment that allows developers of desktop apps (even games) to create internet applications far removed from today’s AJAX and Flash-based approaches.
It will be great to see what the pre-primed dev/design audience take home from Remix08. And of course, intruders.tv will be there!
