We caught up with Doug Richard at the Essential Web 07 conference in London. You might know Doug from Dragons’ Den, the BBC programme where he appeared as a “dragon” aka an investor.Doug Richard is an experienced entrepreneur, having started and sold a number of companies (as Hotxt recently). He is also the founder of Library House an investment research and consulting firm which tracks approximately 12,000 venture-backed companies in Europe.
Besides producing company and research reports, Library House also organizes events such as the Essential Web 07 that brought together over 30 European startups. The invited companies got a chance to pitch to an audience consisting of several hundred investors, potential customers and entrepreneurs. xannonce
