Ugly, slow and not intuitive.. it must be windows..
Dave
HTC will provide their own custom version of Windows Phone OS with their TouchFlo 3d interface, Opera browser, utilities etc. Only then will it be comparable to the iPhone OS.
I already use the Touch Diamond 2 with Windows Mobile 6.1, and HTC have done a great job of hiding the underlying OS (interface, even menus in older apps); it works fantastically well.
Pete
The demonstration of tag proved one thing … HTC still suck on camera speed
I’ve just left Windows Mobile because of the “delay” picking up and making calls .. the call making experience was the one thing not shown .. and the one thing we all want a phone to do
truman
Of course its not as fast. Its MULTITASKING. If other mfg used single thread OS to demo… they’d appear as fast if not faster than iPhone. Lets compare apples to apples…

I have a HTC Touch Pro with WM 6.5 for over 3 months and it’s exactly the same. I’m talking about the speed as well. I was thinking that the phones that they show would be smooth to the touch, this is recycled garbage! How do they expect to compete with apple iPhone 1st gen let alone 3G, it’s not even fair to compare with my 3GS. You have to be insane to want this. I have been a smartphone user for awhile and this is bad for WM or now Windows Phone…WOW the name is the key here upgrade because this is WM 6 with Zune UI. Them MS stores are really gonna need all that Flashy nothingness. BTW I’m not particularly someone to take a side but Apple has the phone market, they must of invested to much into Win7.

@Haxzamatic LOL 1st Generation thats too funny, and true. Agreed Android or iPhone don’t even compare.

SLOW!!!!!!! I’LL STAY WITH MY IPHONE. IVE USED MANY WINDOWS PHONES BEFORE & IVE ALWAYS SPENT MORE TIME REBOOT IN THEM THAN USING THEM.
MAYBE THESE OTHER COMPANY’S SHOULD TAKE THE TIME & MAKE A GREAT PRODUCT
INSTEAD OF MAKING @#$$#% TO TRY & GET A PIECE OF THE MARKET.
YOU CANT TELL ME YOU WOULDN’T FEEL EMBARRASSING IF YOU HAD TO SHOW IT OFF & TELL PEOPLE HOW GREAT IT IS ! OH YES & IT RUNS FLASH RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, IT RUNS IT LIKE ##$^ BUT IT RUNS IT .THAT MAKES IT BETTER THAN ALL THE REST OUT THERE . “YEAH RIGHT”
STOP PUTING CRAP ON THE MARKET PLEASE!

sucks!

I think the interface is a bit childish with fonts too large etc.
One thing is that this is where Apple is going to be left behind. with Google voice and Microsoft cloud, your phone and the internet can be accessed from either end. Apple need to let Google voice onto the iPhone as this is the way things are moving. You don’t have a Phone and pc (or mac), you have devices that are connected to Your cloud!
Crap.. that was some sloooooow browsing.
Also a serious lack of intuitivity. Who wants to click a seperate button in order to be able to zoom in and out, later on click this button again in order to zoom back out :S.
Crap, it’s worse than I had expected.
They have flash, I see, but how are you going to use it when it’s slow like this… :S.
ZA
WinMo: Remote Desktop, Log on to computer network, connect to wireless internet by plugging in to USB, streaming media from network etc…
Apple:( Sorry Uncle Jobs has not decided on these features.
jacolnnn
Yet again, Microsoft underwhelms consumers with their stab at future tech. The only thing good about this laggy and ugly UI is that it had flash support.

Very sluggish and slow. Drop downs still too small making it difficult to tap. Parts of the UI very ugly.
Nice try MS but still 4 years behind the times and nowhere near a match for the iPhone.
