Ever since the release of Deep Throat in 2005, Claude VonStroke has become internationally recognised for his anterior house music and multifarious DJing antics. Claude, real name Barclay Crenshaw, left Detroit to make a splash in the movie business but eventually found himself in San Francisco crafting hip hop beats.
It was there himself and Justin Martin founded the Dirtybird and Mothership labels, with the former almost becoming an adjective when describing their unique shade of house music today.
Ahead of his remix LP Makeovers hitting the shelves (27th July 2011), Jules Hallam invited VonStroke to explain the choices for the album, outline his vision for Dirtybirds and discuss forthcoming projects including his hip hop alter-ego Grizzl.
